“Carve your name on hearts, not tombstones. A legacy is etched into the minds of others and the stories they share about you.”
It is with a heavy heart that I bring news to the CFV community about the passing of Juan Perez.
In the time that Juan was at CrossFit Viera he left a legacy. The the hearts he has touched and the smiles he left on our faces at CrossFit Viera are endless.
The conversations he and I used to have were authentic, always a lesson to be taught, a life story to be shared, and a laugh to be had. It is like I was talking to real life Yoda every time we got the chance to chat.
He taught me how to appreciate things in this world that had meaning. We spoke about relationships with friends, family, and loved ones. He chatted about nights on the beach looking at the stars and hearing nothing in distance. He said to me “You see that’s what life is about, it’s not about accumulating things, but about the relationships and experiences you cultivate.”
Juan did just that.
I sit here knowing I could write an endless letter for the love we have for you and how greatly you’ll be missed my friend.
I want you to know you have left a Legacy here inside these doors and on these athletes at CrossFit Viera, and you’ll never be forgotten.
Once last time:
Juan, great job today, we’ll see you tomorrow.
